Please allow me to introduce myself...

I never did dream of becoming a makeup artist when I was a little girl.

I started out writing, churning out moody pre-adolescent fiction by the ton, until I actually hit my teens.

Then I discovered singing, and was convinced that I was destined to be the second coming of Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, all rolled up in one.

In this, my latest incarnation, I find myself painting and eyelining and pincurling and backcombing my way across the country and into the hearts (and many times under the skin of) photographers, designers, models, and, maybe my favorite of all, real live women.

I'm grateful to be able to do something I love, and perhaps even more fortunate is the fact that I've stumbled into this career that is such fun... and comes with it deep discounts on the numerous cosmetic and styling products that I've loved and lusted over since I drew my first straight line with a Wet n' Wild liquid liner.  In fact, when asked why I got into makeup, I have on more than one occasion answered, "For the discounts and free goods!"

And it's not entirely untrue.  Although getting to make people feel beautiful is a definite perk. :)
